Alabama's Brandon Miller Has Career Night After Being Linked To Murder

Brandon Miller is in the middle of a deadly controversy, the Alabama basketball player has been linked to a murder. On Wednesday, Tuscaloosa Police testified that Miller brought a gun to a-now former teammate that was used in a murder back in January.

About 3.5 hours before the Thursday 9pmEST tipoff vs South Carolina, Alabama announced that Miller was to play, calling him “an active member of the team”. The freshman would play with all focus on the game as the Carolina crowd chanted “Lock him up” and “guilty” when Miller had the ball. The 6-foot-9 forward had a career night, putting up 41 points, which included a game-tying layup with 4.2 seconds left along with the overtime winner. Those 41 points are the most scored by a freshman in DI basketball this season and the most by a freshman in Alabama history.

Brandon Miller is currently not listed as a suspect, only as a cooperative witness. Miller did not kill anyone himself, but allegedly provided the weapon that was used by someone else. With him not being a suspect Alabama gave Miller the OK to play, and with that he is expected to be a regular player on the court again.

Miller is ranked as No.5 overall in ESPN’s 2023 NBA Draft rankings.
