Bears Break Records In 93-24 Win Over Anna Maria

Coast Guard Academy welcomed Anna Maria for their home opener. It was a very humid day in New London, Connecticut, and CGA brought all the heat.


It would be a record-breaking day for the Bears. CGA posted 93 points when it was all said and done, while holding the Amcats to 24. Those 93 points is now a single-game record for CGA. The Bears also broke the record for most offensive yards in CGA history with 754, shattering the previous record of 684 that was set in 2007.


The Bears put up 35 points in the 1st and would lead 56-10 going into halftime. The 3rd quarter saw both teams with 14, but the Bears got the final laugh in the 4th with 23 points, almost out-scoring the Amcats game-point total.

Bears QB1 Joey Armentrout notched 374 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Brock Desta led the Bears in receiving with 237 yards and a pair of end zone appearances. The running game was split between James Wheeler IV and Harrison Hensley, who both a 100+ yard day. Wheeler IV had 137 yards with a touchdown and Hensley notched 103 yards with 3 touchdowns.


The win puts the Bears at 1-1, they will look to surpass .500% next weekend when they host Nichols at 12 pm.
