School is back in session for West Haven, which means the Blue Devil has awakened for another year of sports. The West Haven Blue Devils Football Team comes into the 2022 CIAC Football season looking to make a run at the playoffs once again. Coming off of an 8-2 season the team missed playoff football by just several points, the CIAC uses a point system based off of game match strength to determine the playoff seeding. A truly heartbreaking season after a 7 game winning streak has fueled a massive fire for the Blue Devils’ team as they seek revenge here in 2022.
The team is projected to have a 9-1 regular season with a chance to go undefeated entering the final week of the season. The only team that will keep West Haven from an undefeated season comes in the final game of the regular season facing Fairfield Prep. Despite that 9-1 projection they are not ranked inside the top 10 when it comes to Connecticut football programs entering the new season.
