A 5-5 record over the final 10 games would be the downfall of the Bridgeport Islanders’ season, contributing to their regular season playoff contention elimination by just four points.
Nevertheless there were a lot of storylines that occurred over the course of New York’s AHL affiliate, many of them fell reportless.
One of the biggest storylines occurred over the final games of the season. A franchise record would be set for Bridgeport in both assists and points.
Chris Terry would get a hat trick in Brideport’s final home game, that would be just a small part of the left winger’s 10 points over the final three games. 78 total points would be on the season stat line.
While not scoring himself, Terry also was an assist machine, racking up 51 on the season. He would end up finishing fourth in the AHL for scoring, marking the highest a Bridgeport player has ever finished.
Those 78 points and 51 assists is a Bridgeport Islanders franchise record.
The team dates its history back to 2001 when they were the Sound Tigers.
Chris Terry has had several stints in the NHL with both the Hurricanes and Canadiens, last appearing in the league back in the 2016/17 season.
