Daniel Vogelbach is setting himself up for a monster season with the New York Mets. The 30-year-old had his option picked up by the Mets’ organization after spended the back-half of the 2022 season with the team; he was acquired at the trade deadline from the Pirates.
Vogelbach was mainly used as a DH and PH last season. Appearing in 55 games with the Mets, Vogelbach had splits of .255 / .393 / .436 in 183 plate appearances. The lefty also smashed 6 home runs and had 25 RBIs.
Several days ago Vogelbach said that he was ‘ready to do my part’ as he revealed that he lost between 20-25 pounds over the offseason.
It has also been reported that Vogelbach has improved his skills at first base, being shown in solid performances in Mets’ spring training practices.
With that there are heightened expectations for the journeyman as he continues to prepare for his first full-season with the New York Mets.
