De'Andre Johnson appeared in nine games last season for the New Jersey Generals, starting five of them. The Generals’ used Johnson for various offensive packages, both in the air and on the ground.
Most of his 2022 success came on the ground, rushing for 310 yards and 4 touchdowns. His season-high rushing game was a 98 yard effort with a touchdown in a 28-24 loss vs the Stallions.
The former JUCO QB completed 72% of his passes for 772 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mainly used as the backup behind Luis Perez last season, he is now the projected starter for the Generals. With that, big things are expected for the multi-threat talent of Johnson for the 2023 USFL season.
The Generals went 9-1 last season, so it’s safe to say that the bar is high for the team in general. Johnson had a solid campaign despite having inconsistent playing time, it will definitely be fun seeing what the 27-year-old could do.
