Giants' QB Options Heading Into Week 10

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas; and the look on Daniel Jones’ face said it all as he got up.

The New York Giants are 2-7 and we are still multiple weeks away from Thanksgiving.

Daniel Jones is expected to get MRI results later today, but the real question is what the Giants’ future position at quarterback will look like; most likely it won’t involve Daniel Jones, who got a lucrative $160M contract over the offseason.

With Jones’ season looking to be over and QB2 Tyrod Taylor IR bound, the Giants have two in-house options: undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito and PS QB Matt Barkley.

If The Giants give Tommy DeVito the call to start, a new single-season NFL record would be set as DeVito would become the 10th rookie quarterback to start this season. DeVito had a preseason to remember, but struggled heavily in his relief appearance during the Jets-Giants fiasco.

Matt Barkley was signed by the Giants on Halloween. If Barkley does start for Big Blue, a roster move would have to be made to put him active, though it is unclear how fast he’s learning the playbook.’

If the Giants sign a free agent journeyman, they wouldn’t start for at least 1-2 weeks in order to learn the playbook.

New York is set to face the destructive force of the Dallas Cowboys, the same team that beat them 40-0 in Week 1.
