Over the past several weeks in Yankee Land we have seen some key players leave the team by being claimed off waivers, releasement, DFA'd or traded. The main players surrounding that are Andrew Velazquez, Greg Allen, Tyler Wade, Rougned Odor and Clint Frazier. It all started when Velazquez was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels and Allen was claimed as well by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Not too long later the Yankees would then DFA Wade, Odor and Frazier all within a two hour span. Several days later the Yankees would trade Wade who has been with the organization since 2013 over to the Angels and then we saw a releasement of Odor and Frazier. Overall Rougned Odor hit just above .200, but was electric off the bench and had several key home runs to bring the team back into games and rally everyone up. Clint Frazier has already ben signed by the Chicago Cubs via free agency, but has not played since June due to seeing double from vertigo, it is unclear when and if he will ever play again. Losing Wade and Odor is a heavy hit that could have easily been stopped, add Velazquez and Allen who ramped the team up when it was shattered due to COVID and injuries and well it just looks like the team wants to lose. The Yankees are giving away so much young talent that led them into the post season and frankly it is sad to see and makes you wonder what Hal Steinbrenner is doing.
