It's Time For Igor Shesterkin To Show His Vintage Self Again

Igor Shesterkin got what he wanted: A record-breaking contract with a high AAV.

Now a Ranger for life under an 8-year, $92M contract, which makes him the highest paid goaltender in NHL history.

Now that’s all settled with, it’s time for the Russian to kick some pucks away (see what I did there). Shesterkin is coming off a 2023/24 where he appeared in 55 games with a sv% of .912.

So far in 2024/25, Shesterkin has a .910 sv% with a 2.95 GAA, with a shutout to his belt. Nonetheless, the save percentage and GAA is poor considering the last two years of a combined .914% and 2.53 GAA.
