Jaroslav Halak has been unstoppable as of late, the 37-year old vet is 5-0 in his last five starts. Overall on the season Halak is 6-6-1 with a .908sv% through 13-games.
The last five games have featured a season resurgence from the Czech, it seems like there is a different goalie in the net as of late. Halak’s recent success has been huge for New York, as they currently stand 3rd in the Metro division. Halak is 5-0 with a .938sv%.
Both Igor Shesterkin and Jaroslav Halak have given the Rangers a combined .912sv%, ranking New York seventh in the NHL. One of the key joint stat combos of the two goalies is that they have a .869sv% against high-danger scoring chances at five-on-five play, which ranks the team fourth in the NHL.
The Rangers have a solid team and most likely will make the playoffs. Now with the addition of a second-string goalie who produces stats above replacement, the Rangers will have a solid defensive unit in the net.
