Max Scherzer recently did a rehab appearance to mark his last step for coming back in the majors. Scherzer took the mound for New York Mets double-AA affiliate the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Scherzer would take the mound for for the Ponies against the Hartford Yard Goats for a night game at Dunkin Donuts Park. Scherzer would go 4.2 IP, throwing 80 pitches and striking out 8 batters. It was revealed after the game several days later that Max Scherzer got a locker room feast for the Rumble Ponies, spending over $7,000 for bone-in ribeye, filet mignon and lobster. Scherzer also bought everyone AirPods and had a club house member handing them out saying that they were from Max.
Max Scherzer went above and beyond, showing his true sportsmanship.
