Kodai Senga’s absence from the Mets will be felt massively in April.
Senga, who is expected to begin 2024 on the IL, puts a dark void in New York’s already mediocre starting five.
With no true timetable for a return, the Mets will be rolling with Jose Quintana (3-6, 3.57 ERA, 72.2 IP), Sean Manaea (7-6, 4.44 ERA, 117.2 IP), Luis Severino (4-8, 6.65 ERA, 89.1 IP), Joey Lucchesi (4-0, 2.89 ERA, 46.2 IP) and Tylor Megill (9-8, 4.70 ERA, 126.1 IP). Based off of the 2023 stats, the Mets have a sub .500% starting pitching staff.
With Spring Training already underway, the Mets are likely all done with any offseason moves and will roll with what they have.
