Mets End 12-Year Stint With Tomas Nido Following DFA

The 12-year relationship of Tomas Nido and the New York Mets is no more. Earlier today the Mets released Nido following last week’s DFA.

New York gets the hook for the remaining $2.1M salary (minus the prorated league minimum from any new team that plus him onto the major league roster).

Nido’s big league time with the Mets saw him appear in 306 games since 2017. The 30-year-old appeared in 32 games this season, slashing .229/.261/.361 with 3 homers and 8 RBIs in 90 plate appearances.
