Early Tuesday morning, the New York Rangers reached an agreement with free agent NCAA goaltender Callum Tung.
The 21-year-old went undrafted from UConn before signing with the Blueshirts.
Tung posted a .933 sv%, which ranked inside the top 10 in the NCAA. He also had 2.01 GAA, while leading Connecticut to a 10-4-1 record, leading them to their first-ever NCAA Tournament
The 6-foot-3 netminder will report to AHL Hartford to begin his pro career, being on an amateur tryout for the rest of this season. Tung’s three-year entry-level deal is slated to begin with New York next season.
