AUGUST 9th: After four-plus seasons the New York Rangers have announced a captain, ending their six-alternate approach. Only one team has won a championship since the 1970s without a captain, that was the 1972 Bruins. The Rangers are now going back to playing hockey with true leadership. When the blue shirts take the ice in the upcoming season it will be Jacob Trouba wearing the “C” on his jersey. Trouba had served as an alternate the previous two years and now finally has one of the most prized titles that a hockey player can have during their career. The Rangers look to make a Stanley Cup push once again this season and now having a captain at the helm the Rangers look to win it all.
