New York's Struggling Duo: Jets And Giants In The Same Rough Spot

Do you ever just sit back, crack open a cold beer or soda and just think to yourself, “Dam, the Giants suck,” and then proceed to just sit in silence and question your life choices that brought you to become a Giants fan?

Personally the author of this column cannot say that has happened to him because he’s a Jets fan. Sadly though the Jets are on the same sinking ship as the Giants are.

And quite frankly the Giants and Jets have very similar problems with the O-line and just offense in general.

At least Big Blue’s defense has held up for virtually the entire season, meanwhile Gang Green’s fell when Saleh was scapegoated.

I expect both teams to go after a QB and have the draft focus heavily on offensive linemen. The Jets likely will pick up a defender or two as well if the defense doesn’t come around.

I don’t foresee either of the two teams trading away big, key players as long as the teams hold a top 5 pick.

I do have to say though in the most unbiased way, I do feel that the Jets are farther along than the Giants in one key category: Quarterbacks.

Now, both teams are horrible at QB development, but at least the Jets do plan on playing Jordan Travis in the near future to test him out.

The Jets don’t necessarily need to draft a QB, but I think they will as a backup plan if Travis doesn’t work out, and it would not be in the first 3 rounds either.

It will be interesting though to see what both teams will do this upcoming draft. I cannot imagine either team having no more than 5 wins by season's end at this point, so top 5 draft picks are likely for both MetLife teams.
