Patrick Kane got the taste of New York hockey last season as a trade deadline move to MSG with the Rangers. Now, he currently sits as a UFA with the regular season moving without him.
The 35-year-old is expected to make his choice by the end of this week, per thehockeynews.
As many as eight teams are believed to have expressed interest in the free-agent winger, with the Buffalo Sabres being the most notable.
Patrick Kane’s connections with Buffalo include GM Kevyn Adams and coach Don Granato earlier in his career. Despite his organizational connections, the chances of Kane sporting a Sabres jersey is low. Buffalo would have to overpay him or give him a multi-year contract.
A multi-year signing is rather unlikely as Buffalo has several right-wing options for next season in the names of Alex Tuch and promising forwards Jack Quinn and Matt Savoie.
