The New York Rangers have assigned goaltender Talyn Boyko to their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The move to Connecticut would set the 20-year-old for his professional debut in Hartford. 2022/23 saw Boyko play 40 games for the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets, he posted a 3.55 GAA and a .898sv%.
Overall, the move isn’t surprising at the slightest. With Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick holding things down on New York’s active roster; most likely those are the only two goalies that will call the MSG home this season.
With Quick on a very short one-year deal, Boyko could be in contention for an active roster spot for 2024/25, but it is too soon to officially consider that.
