Ronald Guzman was recalled from the triple-AAA Railriders prior to the Yankees-Twins doubleheader. The Yankees once held a lead as big as 15 games in the ALE, now it has shrunken below six. Guzman, a former Texas Ranger, was brought up in the midst of injuries and the 27th man expanded roster. The five year vet has splits of .225/.302/.411 and came into game into the doubleheader against Minnesota just having a single hit in the last 700 days. Game one of the doubleheader marked Guzman’s New York Yankees debut and it would turn into one what will not be looked back on with a smile. The lefty went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts and a double play with bases loaded, which was caused due to his slow jogging to first base. A true debut to forget for Guzman as he tries to have a career resurgence in the big apple.
