Tonight was supposed to be a night of change, a night of hope and possibly happiness. Instead it was once another night of sadness and thinking about what I could have possibly done wrong in life to be watching a 2023 Yankees game.
Despite calling up top prospects Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza, the Yanks’ offense was silent. A 2-1 loss would mark the team 60-65, and 6 games back from the 4th place Red Sox.

Overall, it was a true pitching duel fueled by great defense: SP Carlos Rodon went 6 innings, allowing only 1 ER to turn in his best outing of the season; The Yankees also saw their outfielders combine for 3 assists, marking the first time since July 15th, 2007 (NYY at TBR).
Nevertheless this was a night that was not seen since the disco ball and parachute pants. The loss would be a ninth-straight for the New York Yankees, something that has not occurred since 1982. New York continues to be on a free fall, they are now 19/30 in overall MLB standings, while also being 10/15 in AL standings.
