Steve Cohen Sells Multiple Minor League Teams

Not even a full 48-hours after the Juan Soto signing, the Mets made another series of financial moves.

Mets owner Steve Cohen sold the Mets Triple-AAA and Single-A clubs, the Syracuse Mets and Brooklyn Cyclones.

The teams will remain in Syracuse and Brooklyn and will also remain as New York’s minor league affiliates.

The teams were purchased by Diamond Baseball Holdings, which bought the Mets Double-AA affiliate, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies back in April of 2024.

Diamond Baseball Holdings owns numerous other MiLB teams across the country.

According to the NY Daily News, the move is not related to any free agent moves and was in the works for “some time,” by Cohen.
