The Amount Of Recent Yankee Trade Deadline Fails Will Shock You

Why is it that almost every single Yankees trade deadline acquisition has gotten injured? It cannot even be bad luck at this point, bad luck takes you down here and there. For the Yankees, they just cannot catch a break.

Or maybe everyone Brian Cashman salivates over is made of glass.

Here is the health of some recent Yankees trade deadline pieces:

Montas: hurt all of 2023

Benintendi: hurt for September/playoff

Effross: hasn’t pitched since 2022

Trivino: hasn’t pitched since 2022

Bader: played 100 of 190 games

Chisholm: UCL injury

For these injuries you simply cannot blame Cashman or Boone, maybe a little blame could be casted on the training staff but that is as I said: very little blame.

The only player on that list above that could be marked down as ‘injury prone’ is Jazz Chisholm. Jazz played 124 games in 2021 | 60 games in 2022 | 97 games in 2023. He has gotten hurt a lot in the past years, though he had nothing lingering; It was just simply a bad slide that unfortunately hurt his UCL.

Overall, the Yankees are top 5 in the entire league when it comes to wins, and they are swapping 1st place with Baltimore in the heavily contested AL East race

So, the Yankees are not faltering, nor do I think they will after the Chisholm injury.

The only negative factor is that the trade deadline is over for major league players, so the only moves the Yankees could make is for minor league talent.
