The New York Jets hammered the Oakland Raiders today in a 34-3 win at MetLife Stadium, it was a blowout as the Jets showed that they got it if it wasn't for all the injuries this season and the loss to Buffalo and Miami the Jets would be in the playoff hunt. When you think of it though the Jets can still make the playoffs mathematically as they leave the game 4-7, we've seen teams who finished the season with a 9-7 record and make the playoffs, the latest being the Colts who started the 2018-2019 season 1-5 and finish 9-7 making the wild card. The Jets probably can do it as they have a pretty easy rest of the season, the only threat being the Baltimore Ravens who are having an amazing season, if the Jets happen to lose the most they can finish is 8-8 with a .500wp%. The last time a team that finished 8-8 and made the playoffs were the 2011 Denver Broncos who won the AFC West with a three-way tie.
The Jets can do it, will it be hard? Yes it would be but if they play like they have in the last three games it's very possible. The Jets are currently two games behind the second WC spot.
