There Is A High School Basketball Team In Texas Called The 'Cottonpickers'

Folks there’s a saying “Everything is bigger in Texas” and in Robstown, Texas the losses are bigger than Kimmy K’s butt. Robstown, Texas is home to a population of just over 11,000 people who are packed in a 12-mile radius, when it comes to sports Robstown high school offers several varsity teams with one of them being boys basketball. The basketball team’s name is the Cottonpickers, now if you don’t have a twisted mind you will not see anything wrong with this but nevertheless the name stands out and is funny when it comes to sports. First of all I am not sure how you can be afraid of a team called the ‘Cottonpickers’, it basically has the same effect as the Savannah Bananas in baseball.

The Cottonpickers currently sit with a 6-11 record through 17-games, they have put up 825 points (48ppg) while allowing 1,001 (58ppg) so far this season. Overall there are no player stats for this team on any websites, but the team is ranked a solid 1140th in the Texas state rankings on the MaxPreps website. The Cottonpickers next game is against the 5-11 Zapata Hawks who are ranked 1048th in the rankings, averaging 48 points-per-game while allowing 62.
