Tyrod Taylor And Jets Make History In Week 1 Against 49ers

Monday night’s game for the New York Jets was full of both offensive and defensive holes.

The Jets allowed eight-straight scoring drives from the 49ers. Not to mention the six field goals, which until the final minutes of the game allowed the kicker to single-handedly outscore the Jets.

New York scored with a late TD given by the 49ers charity squad.

It was a butt kicker game for the Jets, but also it was a historic night that the Jets were a part of. Sadly, it was all due to Aaron Rodgers once again being taken out of the game.

The 32-19 score is the 1,085th unique final score in NFL history.

In the latter parts of the 4th quarter, Aaron Rodgers was removed from the game and benched for backup Tyrod Taylor. Though Rodgers was having a respectable performance, keeping him in and risking injury didn’t make sense in what was then a 32-13 game.

Tyrod Taylor came in for his Jets debut and went 6-for-8 passing, throwing the touchdown for the final score of the game.

Taylor’s entrance makes him just the second player in New York football history to play for all three New York football teams. He now joins the very small list with Marcus Dowtin as the only 2 players to do so.
