WH Blue Devils Take Soderman Bowl With 27-20 Win Over Crosstown Rivals ND-West Haven Green Knights

The West Haven Blue Devils faced cross town rivals, the Notre Dame-West Haven Green Knights for a week 8 Friday night lights affair for the Connecticut High School Football season. The Blue Devils came in 5-1 along with being undefeated at their home stadium as the Green Knights came in at .500% with a 3-3 record. The first quarter featured four fumbles with two being by opposite teams within one play of each other as we also saw a blocked PAT and a failed 2pt Conversion in the game. It was either a true defensive showing by both sides or a truly embarrassing showing by both offenses.

West Haven was leading late in the game as Notre Dame went for a very late comeback where they got the ball multiple times in the final three minutes of play where they were able to score two touchdowns. The Blue Devils defense looked very lethargic at the end along with doing new plays the team was unfamiliar with as the Green Knights offense lit them up. When the clock struck triple zeros it was the West Haven Blue Devils on top 27-20 over the Notre Dame-West Haven Green Knights after only allowing 6-points through the first three quarters. With this win the West Haven Blue Devils are winners of the Soderman Bowl as they improve to 6-1 on the season pushing ND-WH to a 3-4 record and a very depressing, but short bus ride back to the other side of town.
